FRAGILE HUMAN was a seed of an idea nearly ten years ago while I sat bored at my desk at work. It started with a bumper sticker design and concept which I drew on a piece of paper, signed and dated. Then as the years rolled by, the idea morphed into a blog and brand promoting empathy and mental health awareness. Storytelling is my lifeblood as a singer, visual artist, cellist and writer. The Arts are a powerful way to access human emotions and thought. When I studied creative nonfiction writing in college, I saw first-hand how reading my classmate’s stories brought us closer as a group and reading published author’s work expanded our capacity for understanding and empathy. Through storytelling, humans connect with shared experiences, our culture, history, and expression. The purpose of FRAGILE HUMAN (officially trademarked 2024!) is to help readers connect with parts of themselves and other people by highlighting this shared human experience.
